Wiring Toggle Hints and Tips

These toggles are handmade, one-of-a-kind originals.  I take great care when creating these toggles so that each one will be structurally sound and last for many years.

In order for a toggle to be successful the Bar must be long enough in proportion to the hole in the Circle.  The length of the Bar from one end to the hole in the middle should be just slightly longer than the diameter of the hole in the Circle.  The Bar must also fit through the hole in the Circle by having a height that is not larger than the diameter of the hole in the Circle.

When wiring the bar portion of the toggle I suggest that you fill the hole snuggly with wire and perhaps hide a No. 8 seed bead in there as well.  I also suggest a double wrapping of wire on the bottom of the Bar to ensure that the entire structure is sound and this also ensures that the half of the Bar remains long enough to not fall out of the hole in the Circle.
